Slider wear is due to poor snow conditions where there is not enough snow to cool the sliders. the inconsistencies of their work is atrocious. As far as tightening up the track, this will put more pressure on the front angle and tend to wear the sliders faster. I will also be going to a different dealer for the future. 1/2" free sag is a bit too tight for my liking. I will also keep track a bit more loose than spec. I have purchased dupont slides but I will install them myself over the summer along with header. I now adjust track which was something I have never had issue with in past with previous dealer, being new dealer has bunch of clowns working there I had to teach myself. no matter what, you will have wear by the wheels with standard slides and I also find the more you tighten up centre spring the more wear you will have there. So my opinion, 3/4-1" free sag should be good but no more. I have the tension gauge tool, and noticed at 16lb force they are 1 3/8" (which is spec) now, but that number is after a good portion of it was burned off which means they definitely were too tight. and they burned much worse than the originals I had on in just first few km, the dam things even stuck to the clips when I stopped to inspect! Even the remaining life is worse. When I rode sled for that weekend, I smelled the nice aroma of burning slides and acceleration was horrible, top speed also. ![]() ![]() But when got sled back home, I noticed track was much tighter than when I originally got sled. ![]() I had the hyfax replaced, when I really shouldn't have. When I brought back in, for break in inspection. My hyfax was worn at the wheels but overall was good. My top speed was 146kph (90mph) at the time and sled ran great. when got sled new from dealer, free sag was at or about 1" which I thought was normal and went well over after 10 hrs due to stretch and did notice a bit of noisy track as result.
